Apparently 4chan is back.
But you know something? I like this place better. The speed is nicer, the posts feel more thought out and real, like its an actual person responding and not an army of bots.
Whats the plan for this place now? If this site is going to stick around I might just make it my new /lit/. Could use a few more users, but the potential is here. Maybe its time for a fresh start.

It would be fun to do something like book clubs on here, with the slower speeds and smaller community you could get some decent discussion with less flaming.
Only problem I see is I don't think /lit/ reads too much new stuff and personally I'm not interested in wanking over old classics or old meme stuff like Ulysses or Infinite Jest.

With the slower speeds I'll try to make more threads focusing on new (or at least different) books.
I used to make regular threads on /lit/ but it would always get flammed by bad actors and slid into oblivion. I think a lot of people stopped discussing newer/more obscure works because the thread would get zero responses and die within a day.

Yeah I've tried a few times to highlight newer books, especially when something like the booker longlist is published, but it never gets traction.
I agree that /lit/ moves too fast for new stuff nobody really knows and don't want to give a chance.
Admittedly a lot of new stuff is perhaps too modern for the demographic on here, but on something like the booker longlist you're going to have at least one book that could work for discussion on here. Even if 90% of discussion ends up whining about the "woke" crap I'd take it to engage with something new.

Also, /lit/ absolutely needs a catalog function, and it's very dated to redirect your page back to the main board (instead of staying in the thread) after making a post
